Well, we had Hunter's 6 month check up and shots yesterday. He got stuck 4 TIMES!! (Twice in EACH leg) :( He got his flu shot with all that, too. He weighed in at 14lbs 11oz and 25 1/4 inches long. Dr. said he's growing fine but I'm getting a little concerned because he's still below the 10th percentile for his age in weight AND height. Not sure where he gets it..I was a 9 lb newborn and Chase was 7lbs 6 oz and we were BOTH chubby babies! ?? Hope he starts catching up soon!

My goodness Mr. Hunter is growing fast these days!! He has started doing the "Army Crawl", as they call it..not actually crawling with belly off the floor, but DEFINATELY getting from A to B with no problems! Doesn't seem possible! And I swear the boy gets cuter every day! He is absolutely FULL of smiles and squeals and giggles! And has the pretties blue eyes you've EVER seen. He is in the smaller range of height/weight but is still in the norm, weighing 14.2 lbs and 25 inches long. I think that factor is making easier for him to move around and he is taking advantage of that! We are STILL not sleeping thru the night, he wants to wake and nurse twice a night still. But we will talk to the Doc at his 6 mo check up and see how to stop that mess because we both need continuous sleep BADLY! He is doing very well in daycare, really seems to love it! He has gotten sick a few times so far. Last week he had a fever virus I thought we'd NEVER get rid of. He went thru 2 antibiotics before finally going back for an antibiotic shot to clear him up. That was painful for us both..I cried right along with him! :( He is much better..not sure if we'll EVER get his nose cleared up though. That is SO aggreviating to not be able to suck that rattly mess out of his poor little nose! I've tried EVERYTHING! But I guess that comes w/daycare. OH and another big discovery: I can BARELY see a white speck RIGHT under the last little thin layer of his gums..so I'm thinking we're going to have a first tooth pop thru ANY day now! That's going to be so cute! WEll, I guess thats it for now! I will update again after our 6 mo check up!

Well, "lil man", as we like to call him, has decided that it is time to figure out this whole "crawling" thing! He is not crawling yet, but is REALLY trying hard! He can move from A to B easily by scooting and rooting around and rolling! It is next to impossibly trying to change the child's diapers these days, because as soon as you put him on his back, he wants to flip over and start trying to crawl and scoot! He sort of looks like a little inchworm because he'll bury his head in the blanket he's on and gather all his arms/legs under him then just push of w/his feet and inch forward..it's so funny!! So anyday now, I'm just waiting to see him just take off across the living room. Daddy and I are in TROUBLE!! :) It's such a bittersweet thing seeing him grow and learn so fast! Sad moments and proud moments all at the same time! He is doing very well in daycare, and I can tell in the evenings and on weekends that he is adjusting to the schedules gradually too. He's mostly sleeping thru the night, going to bed around 8:30 each night but still tends to wake up around 2:30 wanting to nurse, then waking again around 5 or 6am to nurse again. Hungry boy!! He is still breastfeeding and also is on Soy formula during the day. He is eating a jar of rice cereal/fruit every morning and a jar each evening for supper too. He LOVES babyfood more than any bottle! The daycare ladies were impressed at how well he does with a spoon and cereal! His favorite foods so far are bananas, sweet potatoes, & any of the rice or oatmeal cereal jars, but not so much the dry rice cereal. We will probably start trying veggies real soon! Well, I guess that's about it for now. More updates to come!

Well, baby Hunter started daycare Monday!! I knew it was coming, and thoroughly enjoyed having the friends/family come into our home to help with him daily his first 5 mos! He is old enough now where I feel comfortable with him being in care of others. Also it will be good for him to start developing the social skills he will get being around other babies. He likes it so far I think...although I'm sure he's learning quickly that his teacher cannot give him ALL her attention like the other sitters...he has to share with 5 other babies! He is in a room with 1 other baby his age, 1 that can crawl and 3 that walk! Most of them are girls too...greaaaaat. LOL!!! Anyway, we are still trying to get on somewhat of a schedule as he is still waking me up every 3 hours or less at night. Mostly he just loses his pacy or gets uncovered (he is a VERY light sleeper just like his Mommy!). When I go to his room and cover him back up and replace the pacy, he's usually fine! He tends to go down around 8:30 or 9pm and he ends up waking at 12:30am, 3:00am and somewhere between 5am & 6am! I try to hold out feeding him until the 3am waking at least, but he doesn't nurse or take much from the bottle during the day, so he gets alot of his nutrition at night. Not sure how to break this because I can't FORCE him to drink more during the day! He's just my little stubborn one. :) Right now we have discontinued the solids, except for jars of rice cereal (Mr Picky Pants won't eat the dry box kind!). We get the kind w/apples/bananas in it and he LOVES it!! Still no teeth, but he's still working his gums like CRAZY! Our newest toy: Johnny Jump Up Swing!! Got it yesterday and he can't quite "jump" but he acts like he's going to take off running any minute ha!!! Last time we weighed him at home, he was 14 lbs even! We'll see how much he gains by his 6 mo check up the end of next month. :) I guess that's all for now! Will update again soon!

Well, Hunter is officially 4 mos old now! We are doing good overall, except the sleeping issues! He is still waking about every 3 hours to eat! We have tried letting him cry, patting him back to sleep, nothing really works for long. He goes down around 9pm and is up by midnight or 1am to nurse again and back up at 4am! We have come up with a schedule that we are going to try to get him on so maybe that will help. We are having some teething going on as well! You can feel the 2 little bumps on his lower gums where his teeth are starting to try to push through. He drools and chews on EVERYTHING! Right now he loves chewing on a wet washcloth with an ice cube wrapped up in it! (And his fingers, of course) He has just started rolling over regularly from back to belly too! It is so cute, I will have him in his crib on his back naked and will turn around to get a diaper and when I turn back around, all I see is his little booty just a shining! LOL! He is getting SO big and strong! He LOVES to stand up while holding my hands..his eyes get huge and he gets the BIGGEST grin on his face! He laughs out loud pretty often also and always smiles! He loves sleeping with his "lovey" just like his big sister always did (and still does!). I am also proud to say that he is still breastfeeding and/or getting pumped bottles of breastmilk. We have started him on rice cereal and some babyfoods. So far he LOVES bananas and HATES squash! We've also tried sweet potatoes, pears and prunes..all of which he seems to like OK. His 4 monTh check up was July 31 and he weighed only 12lbs 10oz, which is a little lower than average, but just right for him according to his Pediatrician! He measured 25 inches long, too. We also have officially been on our first family vacation all the way to Pensacola Beach, FL! It was a 9 hour drive but it actually went well and he did awesome! Only fussing a few times! He loved meeting Grandma & Grandpa Oates for the first time, and they just ate him up! He got to go the beach with us and Nana and big sister twice..and I have to say it made for some cute pics, but the beach is not cut out for newborns! So we stuck to the pool to swim most of the time. :) And speaking of swimming, the boy LOVES the water!! As SOON as I step into the pool with him, his arms go to splashing and don't stop until we get out! Even in the bathtub now, he goes crazy trying to splash! He gets it all in his face, which takes his breath away, but he gets so excited..it is the CUTEST thing! Well, I guess that's all for updates as of now! I will post again in a few weeks or so!
