Happy b-day Daddy! I celebrated your b-day by shopping for clothes for ME! I got a sunhat, sandles, bathing suit, 7 pairs of legwarmers, a sundress, 2 sweaters, 3 shirts, pair of socks, 3 shorts and some funky hair accessories. Oh an a stuffed Blue's Clues Puppy and a toy bus.....Daddy says Mommy and I have a shopping problem...opps! Then lots of friends came over to play with you Daddy. I was excited to see one of my friends show up to play with me too.....YAH TAYA! My appointment with the ENT specialist confirmed that I have 100% now. The medication I was on for 6 weeks was successful. So for now no more talks of tubes unless I get an ear infection this summer....which is a red flag said my DR. In the winter we'll start counting ear infections back from one and if I reach 4 we'll discuss tubes again. For now everything is perfect and Mommy and Daddy couldn't be happier :) (FYI....I've currently got a head cold right now....so this will be a true test!) The DR said it was likely a few weeks ago that the meds took affect. That's also when Mommy noticed my favourite sentence then was "do you hear that....?" I was fascinated with anything that made noise. My focus and attention span have improved over the last couple weeks as well. So now when I ignore you I am just being my toddler self....because I hear you...heehee! Comment On This Entry   View Comments

I am peeing on the potty, a half a dozen times in 3 days :) It's an easy way to get people to read books and cheer for me. Been a little off the last few days with a high temp? This afternoon I grabbed my mouth and said "ooowwww hurt!!" Mommy looked inside to see that one of my second year morals has popped threw and another is on the way. Happy to report I am doing well with the recent switch from milk to soy products....so far so good! It was a hard battle at first...I knew something was off "mommy milk sick!" I would say but she paid me no attention? I haven't had any rashes or ear infections since the switch...fingers crossed it stays this way. This weekend I went to "The Underhill Family Sugar Bush"...mmmm pancakes and real maple syrup. My favourite thing to do though was run in the rain and roll around in the mud :) That's all folks. I had fun at the fair with Taya today! Mommy and especially Daddy looked very nervous when I boarded my first ever amusement park ride (the flying airplanes). At first I thought I was going to bawl but I pulled myself together. I did happen to let a little smile escape here and there so it wasn't all that bad :) Daddy took me into the fun mirror house and I was doing good until I ran head first into a plexiglass wall....what the heck was that about?! Also tried cotton candy for the first time. Mommy had to twist Daddy's arm to let me try a bit. I didn't hesitate and quickly shoved the entire piece of cotton candy into my mouth. I got a new big girl doll house. Grandma and Grandpa bought it for me when I was a baby. Mom just decided to bring it out now. Of course the babies are my favourite to play with. I like putting them in their highchairs and put them to bed. This house also comes with a pony and he sleeps in bed beside me "night night mackie...night night horsey...bye bye mommy!". There wasn't enough room in the house for Mommy so I threw her out the window :) It just occurred to me that perhaps my stuffed puppy dogs are thirsty/hungry. So in the morning when I wake up I run around the house and find bowls. Then place my doggies heads into the bowls and go "mmmmm" for them. There my job is done! (haven't a clue where she picked that up) I've graduated to a toddler bed. My first week went rather well no problems at all. Then tonsillitis and a viral fever hit me hard and it's been a struggle to say the least. I try every thing to get out of my bed "water please, hug, all done, mommy, daddy" geez why doesn't any of that work???? I've figured out how to open my door knob as well and escape. But somehow Mommy and Daddy know immediately that I've left my room and they march me right back to my bed :( It's a tough learning process I must say. Comment On This Entry   View Comments

Who's a smartie??? Skills at 21 months Counting to 10. Alright I need my parents help a little bit on this one :) Mommy starts me off and I fill in the blanks when she forgets a number. Drinking from a big girl cup now....bye bye sippy cups!! Got my first two black eyes. If only I'd stop my climbing ways...not going to happen anytime soon. I do my Dora song and dance at the end of every Dora show...."we did it! we did it, WE DID IT!!!" Interested in shapes...got about 5 shapes down pat and eager to learn more. Stringing 3 to 4 word sentences together now. Walking up and down stairs without holding onto anything for support. This scares everyone around me silly. They refuse to believe I can do this all by myself. New American Sign Language words this month; butterfly, tree, baby, bath, turtle & fish. It's getting tricky now to manipulate my fingers the way I want them to go. I am a persistent and passionate learner though :) Showing interest in the potty once again. I like to tell you that I am pooping....put me on the potty and I really try. Yet put my diaper back on and seconds later it's time to change my bum....oops! I am trying to colour in the lines. If I go outside the lines too much I get upset and rip the paper to shreds :( Playing with my baby dolls is what you'll find me doing most of the time now. I can climb into my booster seat and buckle myself in...."let's eat already!" I am working on buckling myself into my car seat....that clip though seems impossible. Happy Love Day!!! I spent the day with Mommy and Rylan. We galloped around in the snow and shovelled our drive way. Came inside and did a TON of messy crafts while we sipped on hot chocolate and made Valentine day cookies. I kept telling Mommy that I was messy. So she drew up a warm romantic bubble bath for my friend and I. I've never giggled so hard in my bath tub before. Then Grandma came to take me away for the evening. Something about Mommy and Daddy needed some together time. Won't be any fun with out me around I am sure :) I shared Valentine's Day with so many loved ones, Grandparents, Uncles, Aunt and Cousins. Little Mommy :) I have a new baby doll. She comes complete with her own accessories, crib and stroller. Mommy and Daddy get a kick out of watching me care for my new baby. I AM BAAAAACK!!!! It's me healthy Mackenzie :) After a month of illness behind me it's time to party! I LOVE my food again...I eat everything on my plate and then I'll eat your food too. Mommy and Daddy were a little spoiled with all the sleep I was needing last month. Doctor visit today confirmed I had Roseola...NOT an allergic reaction to my meds. I still have an ear infection and have gross meds to take for 2 weeks. I am also to meet with an ENT specialist and have a hearing test done in the near future. I won Mommy a prize today at "The Little Gym". I went right up and picked her name out of a hat that had 200 ballots in it. People think Mommy and I are in cahoots with one another :) Comment On This Entry   View Comments

The saga continues...... Woke up this morning with a rash from head to toe. My Doctor said I am having an allergic reaction to my meds. I am to discontinue use and see him on Friday. Sleepless in London! This cold/flu just won't go away! We've been having some sleepless night these last two weeks but last night was the worst. I woke up bawling and yelling for my Mom. There I was in my crib balled up in the corner sobbing. My hair dripping wet, shivering and my skin was too hot to touch. I had a temp of 104 F and it was climbing higher rather quickly. My parents swang into action and they seemed to know just want to do to make me feel better. Off to the walk-in yet again... this place is starting to look like a second home to me now. I have my 5th double ear infection to date :( The Doctor that saw me think it's time to see an ear specialist. We'll have to see what my DR thinks about that. Comment On This Entry   View Comments

Rang in the new year of 2007 with Grandma, Gavin, Lola & Aunt Danielle. We drank champange in fancy glasses while wearing our party hats and blowing on noise makers. Still fighting this cold/flu :( During the night it sounds as if I am coughing up my lung. This morning my eye was crusted shut and I couldn't breathe threw my plugged nose. "merry missmiss!" that's how Merry Christmas sounds when I say it :) For Christmas this years Santa brought us all the flu :( With my runny nose, cough and 102 temp I did my best to look jolly. This Christmas I got a grand walk-in kitchen. I am in love with my new toy. I ran into it and said "I in kitchen!" and started to bang pots and pans together. Lots of first happened this weekend. Went to my first ever water park. Should of seen me go down the water slide ALL BY MYSELF! Mommy at the top of the slide and Daddy at the bottom to catch me. I exuberantly displayed a sense of independence as I scooted up to the edge of the slide and took the plunge down. Daddy said I looked terrified at the top of the slide but a HUGE smile spread across my face the closer I got to the bottom. Once he scooped me up I collapsed into giggles :) Next it was off to see one of the seven wonders of the world. I don't know why Mommy and Daddy wanted to show me Niagara Falls but there it was. Mommy pointed to the falls all excited and I pointed to a bird flying over the falls just as excitedly. Could of cared less to see a bunch of water falling. You should of seen me playing in the snow today. I can walk around the snow with the greatest of ease and jump right back up when I fall down. I was making snow angels and doing face plants on purpose. My favorite thing to do is eat the snow and go for sleigh rides. TIME OUT!! So it's begun. If Mommy disapproves of my behaviour it's Time Out! It doesn't work on me though....I laugh in her face. She figured out my weakness though today. I cried when Teddy got a time out on top of the fridge because I slapped a friend acrossed the face :( Later I went to push a friend and Mommy spotted me before I got the chance. She was holding Teddy and walking towards the fridge. I thought twice about hurting my friend, and decided not to. My second year trick-or-treating and it went of without a hitch. I said "ticker tree" when strangers answered their doors...yet I needed LOTS of prompting to say "thank you!" Visited my friend Rylan the Lion and new baby Lawson. I was taken back and in awe at looking at such a little baby. So this Halloween I was all smiles the whole time...lots of fun was had by me :) Still fighting a cold. Went to see my Doctor today. Went to a "Signing with Babies" class today. Their was NO WAY I was going to sign a single thing for anyone. I think I did a pretty good job at convincing everyone there that I can't do a single sign :) Ha ha ha ha Mom & Dad...that's what you get for dragging me to a class when I clearly didn't want to go ANYWHERE!! What was up with you ignoring me too. I clearly told you that I was "all done" and pulled at the door to open it so we could leave. Never the less you kept pulling me back to the blanket and signing new words to me?!?! So I get it, you want me to sign and so the one time that I did you ignored me even then. I found a chocolate bar gave it too you and signed "more". Yet you just laughed at me and tried to hide the candy?! You guys really are crazy.....and I am along for the ride! I have 16 teeth now. I knew another tooth was coming. Had a few sleepless nights. Mommy looked in my mouth.....just as we suspected another tooth. Today I tried out waitressing. My two friends were sitting in there high chairs just sipping on their drinks. Mommy was no where to be found (taking a quick pee break). I saw my friends food dishes sitting high up on the kitchen counter. So me being the good little waitress, climbed up and grabbed their bowls and served them lunch(without dropping any food on the floor). Mommy emerged from around the corner and she looked surprised. Happy Birthday Val and Claire!! I participated in the Walk-a-thon for Autism today. My whole family was there. What great fun I had making them all chase after me. Learned the sign for "book" today! My baby sign language video taught me how to do it. No one was even teaching me that sign. Imagine the look on my parents face when I did it for the first time without being asked. And just so everyone knows what I am doing I say the word as a sign it. My parents must be crazy. They took me to a party at Andrew and Jake's place. What great fun it is to party until 11pm at night. When everyone started to head out to the bars...that was when Mom and Dad called it quits and took me home to bed. I've been sleeping in for Mommy and Daddy lately. They seem very trilled about it too. I've been sleeping 11 to 12 hours straight threw the night. Although the trade off is that I only sleep and hour for my afternoon nap. I don't think Mommy minds though. I have a new park. They finally bulit me one around the block. You should of seen my face light up when I saw it for the first time followed by the sound "ooohhhhh!!!!" Word explosion this week for me. I say bird, airplane, happy, puppy, woof woof and thank you. They don't sound as clear as you say them I am sure. Although stranger passing by quickly understanhd what I am trying to say so I guess it's good enough :0) My hair is getting super long. Mommy is having lots of fun braiding it and coming up with different styles for me to wear. She bribes me with crackers and TV so she can play hairdresser. My parents are making me into a duck this Halloween. They stuck the duck costume on me and when I saw my reflection in the mirror I went "ack ack" like a duck. Happy Birthday Uncle Jay!!! I have a new friend named Juliana. She's new to the daycare and today was her first day. So I can say the word "gentle" now and I know exactly what it means......that doesn't mean I have to obey it though right?!?!? I've also found the best seat in the house. Right on top of my high toy chest smack dab in front of the TV. Mommy will have to post a pic of that one. I purposely turn over baskets and climb up to high places. I am the brute of the group. I sure keep Mommy hopping with my antics in the daycare. One mintue I am sitting on Rylan (he cries about it), then I am dancing on the toy chest (theirs Mommy pulling me off again), Then I knock Krista to the ground (boy does she ever holler), then I am pulling open all the drawers (Daddy is putting locks on them tonight). Oh I could go on and on about all the ways I like to get Mommy's attention. She makes this funny frowny face and big scary voice. But I see right threw her so a laugh in her face. I am such a busy girl. So many friends so little time. This weekend I played with buddy Colin at The Little Gym. I saw Mommy signing me up for Fall classes :0) She knows I love it there...because I get so excited when we pull up to The Little Gym building every Saturday morning. Then it was off to a Underhill reunion. I played with cousins Lex and Seth. I really don't get to see them as much as I would like. But when were together we have so much fun. Their a little older then me too so they teach me some pretty cool stuff. On Sundays I get to hang out with my Grandparents, Uncles and Aunt. We danced, blew bubbles and ate a big fest. I am really missing my Grandpa and Grandma Rice though. Their vacationing up North this month and I can't wait to show them all the new things I can do when they get back. I can sign "more please" now. Mommy thinks I am her pet "do that trick that I taught you honey". Well Mommy the tricks on you because I infact have you trained to grant my ever wish :0) Today at Gym class we did the spider monkey crawl on the bars...can't remember to keep my bum up in the air though. We played basketball and everyone wanted to throw the ball into the net. But not me man I think outside the box. You all do it the way that you want too but I am going to see if I can put the ball in going up threw the net first. Also my Gymnastics Teacher said that children don't jump up off the ground with two feet until after they turn at least 20 months. I heard the word jump and I thought she was talking to me so I started to jump acrossed the classroom. I went to the Ballon Festival with Mommy and Daddy today. I was stunned into silence as I watched the hot air balloons get bigger and bigger. As they left the ground and floated up high into the sky I clapped and cheered for them. Then I tracked them with my eyes until they were out of sight, waving bye bye to them the whole time. Drastic times call for drastic measures. Okay so Mom was ignoring me cleaning and Dad was forgetting about me and feeding himself. I was hungry I tell you so what's a girl to do. Sure I could of told them to feed me but I am tired of always having to asking for things.....I'll do it myself. I love my "Little Gym" classes. The teachers all know me by name I am guessing it's because I am such a ham and I am the BIGGEST dancer in the room. My teacher would stop the music to talk and I would sign and tell her "more". Kristy caugh on quick that I wanted to dance and start the music right back up. I have a new favorite cuddly. His name is Piglet but when I say it it comes out sounding more like "igglet". Every night he has to come to bed with me and snuggle. Just in the last week or so I've noticed my stuffed animals. I've relized that they're a lot of fun to hug and carry around. Whenever I am showing my animal friends some love, Mommy' s face lights up and she's constantly saying "awwwww". I guess this is a good thing. Tonight I went to a pizza pool party at Sean and Sheila's. Had fun splashing and lounging around in my baby floating ring. Cooper (a baby pug) really likes me and couldn't stop himself from licking and nibbling on me. I was tired though and kept saying "all done"...took me having to say it 100 times before anyone swang into action though. I got them back by peeing on their deck just before we left....ha ha ha ha! Talking up a storm this week. I enjoy repeating words back to you that you just said. I am not sure of what I am saying and likely only Mommy and Daddy can understand me at this point. They think it's pretty funny to hear my little voice repeat words back. Some of my favorite words to repeat are; shoe, more please, cracker, thank you and juice. I don't say them on my own yet only when I am promted to do so. The reaction I get from others is a riot. They look so silly clapping, laughing and yelling that I figure I might as well join in. Happy 14 month old day to me! I weight 24.5 pounds and I am 31.5 inches tall. That means I am at the 90% range for my age on the growth chart. Finally I am starting to average out amoungst my peers. It was tiring my first year of life always being above normal for weight and length. First time at the beach. I had a blast playing in the biggest sand box I've ever seen. I was a little unsure at first of jumping in the water so Daddy took me in for my first dip. Then I got a little too comfortable and thought that I could just walk right in and swim by myself. Mommy said that I loved the water so much that in a second all she would see was the top of my sun hat resting on top of the water and she'd have to pull me back to dry land. I was just trying to get those rocks at the bottom of the water was all....I wasn't trying to drowned myself I swear. I met so many new friends while I was there. Apparently I am suppose to wait for an invite before I jump onto the towel of a fellow sun bather?! And I thought I was being helpful when I was trying to give everyone there sandles back. Fireworks and ear pain. I went to see the fireworks with Mommy, Daddy, Papa and Gram Underhill. I was in awe at all the colours in the sky that I couldn't take my eyes off of them. The very next day I was in emerge because Mommy and Gram couldn't understand my behaviour. I had a fever, slight cough, irratable, refusing to eat or drink much of any thing and then I pulled at my ears. That was the last straw Mommy said and it was off to the hospital. I understand object permanence very well. My water bottle rolled under my parents SUV but I knew it wasn't gone. Mommy turned to yell something at Daddy and that was all the time I need to shimmy out of sight. Where did I go....right under the car of course to retrieve my out of sight water bottle. I say "Pa Pa" now. I've spent the last two weekends with my Grandpa's so I thought it was a good time to learn their names. For some reason I whisper when I say it and smile so sweetly. This new action should surely get me all my hearts desires. I can point out items in my story books now. If Mommy askes me to point to the ball, shoe, bottle and so on I'll point to the object you just named if you ask me nicely. Silly Mommy seemed surprised and delighted that I knew my stuff. Mommy thinks I am a monkey because I am climbing everything. I climbed up in an adult chair and turned around and sat down the proper way all by myself. Later I pushed a box up against my grandparents baby gate and tried to climb over the gate. A favorite pass time of mine right now is to empty out my big toy boxes so that I can climb in and out of them. Just another day! It's 6:30am...who's going to come save me from my crib? "Da da Da da!!!" Hello Daddy did you hear me calling for you? Hello toys I've missed you so don't worry I am going to play with each and everyone of you today. Oh got go sit in my carseat and tour the BIG city. So impressive to see so many cars and trucks wizzing by. Wave to Daddy as he dissapears into that huge building like he does every morning. Breakfast with Mommy as we eat our favorite foods sipping on coffee and juice for me...just girl talking away. Quick we're in a hurry to meet our friends for a play date at Adventures on Wonderland. My girlfriends Claire and Shayla are there waiting for me. So much fun laughing and running around. Had a pizza lunch with my girls. Mommy wants to buy me a double stroller but am so tired she has to lug me sleepy body around. That's it for naptime no more sleep for me. I'd rather cuddle up with my Mom and guzzle my "bab ba" back. What's that you say...it's time to shop! Sure am game I love to people watch. So many strangers want to say hello and tell me how cute I am...never get tired of that :0) Time to jump in my carseat and whip acrossed town to save my Daddy from that huge building. There's my Daddy I think I'll run to him and give him a big hug to show him how happy I am to see him again. You want to take me out for supper. Sure but only if your paying. Sitting on the patio at TJ's having some drinks and french fries until I can eat no more. Everyones in a good mood so lets go visit some friends shall we. Andrew and Jake have lots of fun forbidden things to play with...you have no idea how exciting their place is. I feel that am lossing control of myself. Can't shake this tired feeling. Mommy and Daddy can sense I can take no more excitement for one day. That they quickly coral me into my car and head for home. There's my bottle that I was asking for and now to bed. I can spy with my little eye something in the sky. Taking an interest in the big blue sky this week. I can spot an airplane before Mom and Dad can. Pointing and hollering "what's that, what's that" with total amazement. Clouds are fun to look at and yesterday I saw a hot air balloon which I mistaken for a ball...my mistake :0) I've learn the art of making others share their food with me. I make a cute little face and say "mmmmmmmm" it's very effective and works like a charm. If Mommy is cooking something in the oven I run up to it peer inside and say "mmmmm" to show her my approval. I am a growing girl that needs to eat all the time. I've learned to say the words "all done!!!" Well it comes out sounding more like "aaaah dan!" but it gets the point acrossed. I shout it with urgency when I say it. Which is great because people swing into action now to get me out of my touture chambers which consist of high chairs, cribs and car seats. I have a new friend this week named Rylan. I am very aware of him in my surrounds and he seems to like MY MOMMY! He's not quite sure what to think of me yet. I can be rather in your face bursting with energy where he likes to be more mellow go with the flow sort of fellow. Time will tell how this will all play out. I am quite excited to see him every morning though and get super excited to see that he is still here when I awake from nap time. Risk taking things I've done this week are; climbed up on my teether totter then stood up and jumped off, climbed up on the couch then dove off head first. Mommy and Daddy now lock the gate up at the top of the stairs every night when I go to bed. Party Girl!!! Well I am offical done celebrating my first successful year of life :0) On the weekend I partied with my Fentie Family. I got to taste popsicles and chocolate chip cookies for the first time....of course I loved it! Buddy Colin joined the One Year Old Club on the weekend and I helped him celebrate. Mommy was so ill but Daddy made sure I made it to the party. I just love a good party. I've learned to communicate a want that I have. I'll point to the object that I want then point to myself so that you know that "I" want it. The world is mine for the taking, that's how I see it. Tonight it's off to my first pool party. This is were I can show off my new swim skills and cute bathing suit *thank you Karen and Raden* I am told that tomorrow is my new friend Rylan's first day of daycare. It's me and Mommy again hanging out. Daddy went back to work to make me money. One more week of having Mommy all to myself, then I am told I am going to have to share her?!?! It's been a rainy week but that's fine by me. I get a kick out of dressing up in my rain coat, hat and rubber boots. Then it's off to find some BIG puddles to jump in. I throw a little temper tantrum when I am told it's time to come inside. Colin asked me out on date last week and we ended up going swimming at the Y. I was trying to show off by running around the pool all by myself. I can't quite do that yet because I drank a ton of water....yuck! I guess I still need Mom's help. I've been having scary dreams this week. I wake up suddenly and SCREAM, SCREAM, SCREAM, with tears streaming down my face. Mommy comes flying in my room when I do this and she looks as frightened as I do. We cuddle until I peacefully fall alseep in her arms then she pops me back in bed. Once you're one apparently all the fun foods come out. I've tried fish, ketchup, ice cream, chocolate and my new favorite pizza. Sean gave me my first piece and I fell in love with it.......mmmmmmmm so good! I learned to say my 5th word this week...BALL! TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!! I decided to spend the part of my birthday getting into mischief. I knocked my CD player off the shelf and ran behind the couch to hide when I heard Mommy coming to investigate. Later I reached for a bowl off the diningroom table and Daddy told me "no" and pushed the item I wanted further out of my reach. So I went running to find my toy broom and swung it up over my head onto the table in a swiping motion to get the bowl off the table. I could see Mommy laughing at my attempt to get what I wanted even though she tried to cover it up with a disaproving glare. Then later in the day during all the crazy comotion of 45 people celebrating ME! I got a moment alone to myself in the bathroom. When Mommy noticed I was gone she found me with water up to my elbows and a huge grin on my face....nobody will ever guess what I was up too :0) Am giving my parents a little taste of what's in store over the next year of my life......HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!! Let the fun begin! Then it was off to one of the BIGGEST parties I've ever seen. So many familiar faces and all my little friends were there too. My picture was take a bazillion times I think. I saw so many toys and clothes and I got to bring them all home with me :0) I learned to do the sign for "more". What an appropriate time to learn such a thing I though. All I got to do is make a fist with my hands and bang them togther. In return I get more cheese (my favorite), more kisses, more swing rides, more bottle......well basically anything I want. What I cool little trick I taught everyone ah?! Uncle Bryan came home with me from my party and decorated my room with happy colourful bugs. There's so many to look at and I love to point at them. I had a little birthday party with my play group friends. We wore pretty princess crowns ( I actually keep mine on), played with bubbles, ate ice cream sandwiches and watched "Elmo's World". Claire made me a pretty card and and gave me an en-larged picture of the two of us hanging out by the pool side (soooo cute). Storybook Gardens is where I was hung out yesterday. I mostly enjoyed running around and looking/listening to all the animals. Claire and Shayla invited me to their little gymnastics class...it was bring a friend day and they chose me :0) I had so much fun, climbing, dancing and jumping around. I liked it so much and I over heard my parents saying that they might sign me up to go all the time. Today was also my Parents 2 year anniversary so we celebrated it by going out for dinner. I got to have chocolate pudding for the first time......yummmmm!! Then it was off to the book store and I got 2 new Sesame Street books * thank you Kim and Greg* I am not sure where Mommy is finding me all these new freinds to play with but I love it. I get so sad when my new friends leave that I cry for a second or two to show my dissapointment. In a few short weeks though am going to have play mates to play with everyday I am told. It's a Ball Party!!!!!! So many friends, balloons, pretty paper, cake and BALLS! My GD Family came out last night to celebrate my 1st Birthday with me. Word got out that I love balls so in total I got 104 of them. I squealed and kicked with excitement when I saw all the balls. Mommy put a Sesame Street cake infront of me and she didn't mind that I painted my face with the icing and ate it by the handfulls.......why is everyone looking at me and laughing?? Oh but I gave Mommy and Daddy another scare. After I finished my cake I broke out in hives all over again. So off to the tub for another scrub down. I'am sad to report that I don't think I'll be getting anymore delicious cake again for a very long while :0( On the upside I was being so cute and good that my parents let me stay up until 11pm....lucky me! Today I also had my very first swim class. Of course I loved every second of it since am such a water baby. My teacher chose me to be the shark that chased all my little fishy peers around the pool. I was told by spectators that am a natural in the pool. They had me doing different kinds of floats and kicking my little legs around the pool while Daddy supported me. Went for a walk through the woods. We found HUGE patches of trillium flowers and we stopped for a photo opt. With my cute white flower bonnet on I looked like a trillium flower myself sitting in amongst the flower patch. I picked just one flower, I couldn't help it.... Spoiled Baby! It's so nice having Mommy and Daddy all to myself these last two weeks...and another two weeks still to go. I got to feed ducks for the first time. I was so amazed by them that I couldn't stop saying "eewwww" over and over again. Of course there was Mom with the video camera and she go it all on tape. The duck were very friendly but apparently my Parents thought a little too much so and let me examine them held up high in their arms. Then it was off to the Aquatic Center for a swim. My Dad has never seen me in the pool before, so I had to show off a bit. Then Daddy thought up this great game were he made a ball appear from no where. I love sandboxes so much so that I've now got 3 of them. One here at home and two at both of my Grandparents houses. I love to eat sand, throw it and squish it between my fingers. Whenever I go out in my backyard I run to my sandbox first thing screaming "ahhhhhhh" all the way to it. This morning Grandpa and Grandma Rice came to visit and I show them all around my new backyard. Today was also my Daddy, Uncle Trevor and Grandpa Underhill's B-Day Party. I played in my sanbox (big surprise I know), had piggy back races and blew bubbles. Aunt Nikki helped me chase the bubbles and we actually caught a few....I giggled every time. Then it was off to London to help my Uncle Jason move. What a busy day but I had tons of fun! Also learned a new phrase "eeewwww" I say it when am amazed with something. I had my first allergic reaction. I was making a cake for Daddy for his 27th Birthday and I broke out in hives all over my wrists and surounding my mouth area???? Mommy looked a little panicked and threw me in the tub and scrubbed me down. It didn't bother me any and the hives where gone a 1/2 hour later. Went to the Children's Museum with Mommy and Daddy. Sure there was cool things to look at and play with but I was most excited in seeing all the KIDS!! I had to introduce myself to every child I met.....soooo much fun! Grandpa and Grandma Rice came to hangout with me in the evening and we celebrated their anniversary together ...Happy 32nd. I wonder where Ma ma went though?? I searched the whole house and called out for her but she was no where to be found. Oh well at least my Grandma and Grandpa are here to keep me company until Ma ma gets back :0) My new motor skill I just recently achieved is to RUN! I can be quiet quick too. Yesterday Daddy and Mommy were steps away from me and I ran full speed ahead to a 15 foot hole right beside my house (new house being built right next to ours). Mommy, Daddy and a Construction Worker were inspired by my running that they ran too, right up to me. Mommy said that am NOT allowed out front of my house anymore and now she carries me to the car. I got a new sippy cup it has a straw. I think I like it?!?! This is my 5th sippy cup to date because I just can't seem to find one that I like. Mommy and I have been searching for the prefect sippy cup for about 6 months now. I've got to make this one work because apparently there isn't anymore sippy cups out there to try. Today Daddy and Friends are building me a fence. I wanted to help but they seem to have things under control as I sit here and watch them work from outide my window. Good work everyone my fence is looking awesome :0) I am surrounded by Uncles today. My Uncle Jason loves to play my peek-a-boo game that I invented. Great Uncle Shawn stopped by for a visit and kept giving my raspberry kisses. I tried to give them back but I need some practice. Spend the weekend with Grandpa and Gram Underhill. It was so nice out that we went for a walk, visited neighbours and picked flowers from Grandpa's gardens. They have a neat little fountain that water flows out of and I couldn't help myself from touching it. The water ran down my arm onto my belly and legs and I couldn't help but giggle every time......I was SOAKED :0) Gram taught me how to sniff the flowers. Me and My Daddy! Daddy is on maternity leave with me now. I like to keep him on his toes. The other day I opened the patio screen door and walked out onto the small ledge. One more step and I would of had a 2 foot drop to freedom. I think I must of scared him, but I thought it was great fun. Every once and awhile Mommy disappears but I know she's around here somewhere so I holler at the gate for her to come back. When I see her smiley face I get so excited and give her big hugs and smiles back. Daddy keeps me pretty entertained thought. We've been socializing with the neighbours the last few nights. There is soooo many little playmates right in my back yard. There's even another little girl named Mackenzie too...it is a great name :0) Yesterday we had a water fight outside and washed my toy car and new climber. Today we did some building outside putting my water table and sandbox together. Later on in the day some men dropped a bunch of wood off and Daddy said that we're going to build a fence next. I am so indemand these days. Went to my first BIG bonfire out in the country and played with my GD Girlfriend Taya. I thought the bonfire was booooring, but Taya and her toys were cool. Grandma and Grandpa Rice came to my place to hang out with me and gave me an early birthday present (tons of cute summer clothes). Today am of to wish my Gram a Happy Birthday Day! I've been having fun playing with friends. I visited a little girl my mom use to Nanny. They had a BIG dog that wanted to lick my face and sniff me like crazy. I wasn't sure what to think about my first meeting with a dog. Today Claire and I splashed around in the pool. We had a great time but had to leave because our lips were turning purple and we had a case of the quiver lips going on. I don't know what is going on but Mommy is buying me new things daily right now. I got a wagon, craft supplies, riding toys, teether totter, sandbox, rocking horse, learning table, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, balls, dolls you name we about got it. Mommy says this is just the tip of the ice berge there is so much more to come in the next few weeks...lucky me!! Comment On This Entry   View Comments

I can say "whaa tha" now. I do it when I want to know something. Like "what's that" if I've just heard a sound or I'll point to something I want to know more about. I've got a cold...and I shared it with Mommy and Daddy, wasn't that nice of me?! My Doctor's motto is "the family that's sick together stays together". Although I have a terrible head cold and a nagging dry cough that really bothers me a night. It hasn't slowed my down one bit :) This week we've been spending a lot of time outside. There's a whole big world out there waiting for me. I am turning into a outside baby, so much so that I cry when it's time to go inside. My parents bought me a sand box and Daddy is talking about building a fence. Why do they want to keep me so close to them anyways?? Comment On This Entry   View Comments

On the weekend I popped my 8th tooth. So ya I've got a full set of teeth going on here. All let ya now when I start popping my molars in, that should be fun! Today I've decided it's time to climb. I've tried to get on top of the couch, put a lot of effort into getting up on to the toy chest and I hung on to the dinning room table top and swung from it as if I were trying to do chin ups. My Daddy is a entertainer....did you know that?? He can make kleenex appear from no where. I laugh SO hard with big belly giggles everytime he does it. He can juggle things and I clap everytime to show my appreciation. He's a really live human jungle gym too. I love when he swings me around on the floor, horsey rides and so much more. It should be no surprise when I shout his name and run to him with arms open wide when he comes threw that door after work. "Da da da da" clap clap clap run and BIG hug!! Mommy cut my bangs the other day. I knew she was up to something because she was giving me forbidden things to play with ( like keys & paper ) to keep me still. I think my bangs are a little short though and Mommy laughed at the end result. This weekend I went to "Adventures on Wonderland" again. This time I got to take Daddy along to show him why it's such an exciting place. I knocked a kid down twice my size and he got very upset and cried?! The I got a ball pinged of the side of my head...but I didn't pay it much attention. A girl twice my height gave me a BIG bear huge...strange I didn't know who she was, she acted like she knew me though. So many children were hugging me that I thought it was the thing to do. Although when I hugged a child I was told I pinched them and the kid started to cry...so confusing?! I have sooooo much to learn about the art of socialization. Good thing Mommy and Daddy said not to worry that they will teach me as I grow. Then is was off too see all of my Grandparets. I love my Grandpa's even though I play a little shy with them now. I am so excited to see them when I first arrive that I clap and squeal. Then I bury my head in the ground and peek up at them to see if they're still there. Slowly I warm up to them and all is well in the world......why do I do this?? I got a new toy tractor that makes sounds and drives it's self around the floor. Gram's bought me new big girl shoes that light up when I walk, am very interested in them. Now I have light up shoes just like my big cousin Gavin :) I got a pink wind suit from Grandma Rice...I love that my Grandma's thinks about me. I am a VERY lucky Granddaughter indeed!!! Still above average when it comes to weight and length amongst my peers. There is a chart of comparison the Doctors use and I currently (at 10 months) fall into the 100% for weight (24 lbs) and 95% for my length (29.5 inches). I've been maintaining these averages my whole life. But Mommy thinks that am going to slow down now so that everyone can catch up though. It was "show and tell" at my Daddy's workplace today. At least that is what my parents told me. Little did I know that I was the guest of honour. That was fine by me because I love to be the centre of attention. I really know how to work a crowd too. Just give them what they want.....a smile, a giggle and a little dance! But I couldn't do it without my Manager (aka Mommy). She knows how to dress me cute and the pigtales was a nice added touch. And my Publicist (aka Daddy) he's great at promoting me because their wasn't a person there who didn't know who I was. My fans wanted more...more...more of me but they will have to wait because I was in need of refreshments (bottle) and some relaxation (crib). My 7th tooth popped through. Mommy and Daddy were surprised last night to discover my new tooth. They're so silly, they didn't even notice that I was teething. I am sleeping like a baby now. Am so tired and wired am I. It's go go go the last few days. Yesterday I went to Adventures on Wonderland for the first time with my little buddy Nolan and friends. I loved the ball pit it was so funny too me. No matter if I crawled, laid or just sat in the ball pit it would swallow me up. Next thing I know I was buried with balls over my head and there was no way out. All of a sudden I would feel this big pull back to the surface and there was Mommy's smiley face. I'd giggle and clap and then back to the ball pit for some more fun. I got invited to a St.Patrick's Day Party at my friends Andrew and Jake place. I really tried to party as long as I could but I was ready for bed by 7pm......am such a light weight. Today am off to Grandma Rice's house to shower her with b-day kisses. An while am there maybe I can find that kitty cat I like so much :0) Tonight am spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa Underhill's house, with Mommy and Aunt Nikki. Went shopping with Mommy today. She bought me 4 sun hats......she's such a freak :0) Kept putting all these silly hats on my head. I just go with it and smiled at her because it seems to make her so happy. Am off to get Easter/10 month old photos taken today.....wish me luck. I went to my first fair today. It was crazy, so many lights, sounds and children running every where. Daddy played a game and won me Cookie Monster......but I was more amused my the string of pretty beads I got for free. Went to a petting zoo an a Llama tried to eat ME!! Mommy was laughing and snapping pictures while a giant animal was about to make me into his snack. Their was some interesting people dressed all colourful like that I couldn't stop starring at.....they called themselves Clowns. So I have an ear infection....that's what my Doctor told Mommy. I've got some medicine that I LOVE...yummy :0) I am being a little trooper about the whole thing. If it wasn't for this fever I have you wouldn't even know I was sick. My Doctor liked my pretty earrings and he also was impressed that I am walking so early and so steady for my age. Then I got weighted and was told what ever girl wants to here...that am taller, lost weight and that I look great. Visited Grandma and Grandpa Rice and Uncle Craig today. This walking thing is a breeze now am such a little pro. While walking I can bend at the waist pick up an object from the ground and keep on a truck'n. Grandma had me outside today an I was walking all over the place in my new big walking shoes with ease. Everything was going dandy until Gram's threw me in a snow bank and then laughed at me. Okay maybe she didn't throw me in the snow bank I might have accidently stumbled into it myself. Either way it wasn't funny to me that white stuff was cool.......brrr!! I can do a cute little dance while standing that makes everyone giggle. Had a play date today with friends Claire, Shayla and Noah. I was sooo excited to see them at my house when I woke up from my nap. Shayla has the coolest sippy cup I just couldn't keep my paws off of it. I really like Noah he made me laugh.....watch out am like'n the older boys :0) I like my friend Claire...she helps me to stand and walk around. Claire makes all my toys look so cool to play with. I swear Claire I was just going to play with that very toy your playing with. Mommy's hip to me though...she's not buying it :0) Mom's friend Kelly has this fun purse with LOTS of neat things in it....ohhh sooo much fun. Then there's Mommy the fun spoiler that she is making me put back my new found treasures in that purse.......grrrr Mommy!! When my friends left I was so sad I cried......I hope they come back soon! Tonight it's me and Daddy hanging out. Mommy is going out on a play date of her own. Went swimming in the big pool (London Aquatic Centre) for the first time. My friends Claire and Shayla were there too. I had a blast splashing around and playing with Mommy. I was most interested in the water drains around the pool.......they were a lot of fun to play with. No, no, no......I don't like that word!!!! Mommy says it to me when I touch the computer stand. It upset me so much that I bury my head in the ground and sob. Why can't I play with the computer, I don't understand?! Uncle Craig came over tonight to play with me. He chased me around the room....I love that game. I heard him tell Mommy that my balance and walking is so much better then it was just last week when he saw me. Am glad that all my hard work is getting noticed :0) Went shopping today with Mommy and Daddy. They bought me slippers, big bibs, a cool toy and yet another gate. Mommy looks so happy when we go shopping and Daddy doesn't smile at all an then when we get in the car Daddy grumbles all the way home........hummmm I wonder why?! I am very determined right now to get this walking thing down pat. I can take a record of 9 steps in a row right now. I haven't figured out of to fall down gracefully yet. Currently I do this thing I like to call the "butt drop" it shakes the floor......mommy laughs. I've seen a lot of my friends over the week. I hung out with my buddy Colin, he showed me what cool new things the kids are playing with these days :0) I got invited to a dinner party and a lot of my honorary Aunts and Uncles were there. I had a lot of fun at Sheila's, I danced a little, walked all around the place, I found her dust buster and vaccuumed the floors for her. Andrew and Sheila came over one night to watch a movie with me. Andrew had the coolest pants with fun strings and clips on them......they tasted yummy. Every time I looked at Sheila she was laughing and smiling at me.....I think she thinks am funny or something. Mommy and Daddy bought yet even more safety devices for me yesterday....geez they really don't want me to get into anything fun. I've been a busy girl the last few days. Had a play date with Claire. Mommy said I had a bad case of the "green eyed monster", it's just that whatever Claire was playing with looked like the best toy. I keep trying to swipe her toys......Claire didn't like that. I don't think Mommy did either because she kept making me give Claire the toy back....bummer =0( Grandma Underhill came to visit me she looked so impressed with my new walking skills. She also brought me a present. It's a really sparkly summer jumper with matching hat. I'm going to look so cute in it. I love being the centre of attention. Mommy and Daddy hosted a poker game last night. Of course I had to be right where the action was. Multiple people wanted my attention an I was in heaven......batting an eyelash this way.....big grin that away.......giggle to you and you and you. My 1st Valentine's Day! I spent it with Mommy and Daddy. Mommy took me to the mall to buy my first pair of walking shoes. Not sure how I feel about them and I don't want to walk when I am in them. Daddy took his two favorite Girls (Me and Mommy) out for a romantic Valentine's dinner at Mexi's. They wouldn't share their mexican food with me....they gave me a cookie instead. I really really wanted those nachos though :0) I made Daddy a Valentine's Day coffee mug. Okay Mommy helped me a little bit I painted all over it and she wouldn't let me eat it....she's such a kill joy. My favorite thing to get into right now is the dishwasher. When ever I hear that it's open I go a scrabling as fast as I can to it snorting with excitement the whole way. I just about make it there and then they close it up real fast.......makes me soooo MAD!!! Even though I scream and drop to the floor they won't open it back up. Mommy knew how to make it better though she gave me some pots and pans and fun kitchen things to play with instead........she's forgiven :0) Comment On This Entry   View Comments

I am walking, am walking!!!!!!!! :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) :0) Last night I took my first step. I was standing and holding onto the T.V. stand with one hand. I let go and took 2 complete steps to my Daddy. I loved the reaction my parents gave me that I kept doing it again and again. I got my 9 month pics done at Sears today. Mommy said that I looked way too cute and that she couldn't decided what pics to buy....so she just bought a bunch instead. I got my ears pierced today. Six teeth now is what I have. Popped my left central incisor tooth today. Mommy gave me toast for the first time this morning. She told me I can handle food like that now because I have so many teeth. Mommy also said that she'd be cooking me a steak real soon and then laughed......I didn't get the joke. I went for a walk this morning with Mommy. It was really cold out there but I was bundled up nice and cute. I love going for walk in my stroller. I show everyone how much I like it by clapping my hand and kicking my feet. I am working really hard today on take my first steps. I am so close it's ridiculous =0) I stand and let go of what ever am holding on to for support and bounce up and down. I lift my one foot up but before I can figure out what to do with it I go tumbling to the ground. I am determined though am not going to give up. My motto of the day it "try and try again". Popped my fifth tooth (right central incisor). That means I've popped five teeth in a 8 week period. Right now I am on a family vacation with Mommy and Daddy (also Uncle Craig and friends Andrew, Vicki and Jamie). We spent a few days in Collingwoods together at a ski lodge. I am having so much fun I just love all the attention am getting. When am excited I clap my hands together and bang my feet on the floor to let everyone know. I went to a Jazzercise Mom & Tot Class today. I went with my friends Claire and Shayla......I was the youngest one there. I mostly got a kick out of crawling around after all the children.
