Hi! I am Baby Hunter and this is my arrival story, so my Mommy says anyway! :)
On Sunday, March 29 (one week BEFORE my due date) my Mommy started having labor pains that were off/on all day so by 3pm we went on to the hospital, as they were getting a little more intense. They checked her at 430pm and she was only 1 cm and 80% effaced, but the nurse made the comment that the bag of water was "RIGHT THERE" and bulging and my head was engaging and hard to move. They told Mommy to go walking for an hour and come back. So she did (and Daddy too!) An hour later, still no change. So they gave her the option to keep walking or go home, even tho the contractions were like 3-4 min apart!! She chose to walk! She was DETERMINED to not go home!! She was ready for me to be here already! So around 10:00, 2 of Mommy's friends came up to visit and check on all of us. They relieved Daddy and so he headed to the car for a break. Not 3 MINUTES after he walked out, Mommy was having a pretty sharp contraction, and suddenly at it's peak, she felt ( and HEARD) a "POP!"!! Sure enough, her water had broken! CrAzY!! Julie, Mommy's friend called Daddy and said, "Get your BUTT up here NOW..her water just broke!" and I'm told he said, "What the hell?? I've only been gone 5 minutes!!" Anyway, so Mommy goes back to the room, all happy and bragging that her water broke and she wasn't going home without me! LOL! The nurse checked to make sure it had, then hooked the IV up and checked her. She was at 2-3 cm...and starting to REALLY hurt. By the time the anesthesiologist came Mommy was about to pass out from the pain, so they gave her Stadol which about completely knocked her OUT and she HATED it! Then the epidural came, and she was glad she had the Stadol LOL! So she laid there about 2 hours, half concious and shaking from the epidural, but pain free. They checked again around 1am, and she was 5-6 cm! The nurse went to eat lunch and while she was gone, Mommy was talking to my Nana and she commented on how strong and frequent the contractions were and said it looked on the monitor like they were just one big steady contraction. Soon as she said that Mommy realized how funny and different "things" were feeling "down there" so they asked the nurse to check me. 45 min after the last check, MOMMY WAS COMPLETE!! WOW!! Everyone was shocked! The nurse never got to finish her lunch LOL! The dr came in, everything was a blur b/c they looked at said I was RIGHT THERE! Mommy pushed MAYBE 3 times, laughing in between b/c she was so excited to meet me LOL! Then they yelled STOP PUSHING, so Mommy did, but I kept coming out anyway! SO, on March 30, 2009 at 2:28 am, I made my SPEEDY grand entrance into the world!! All was great but Mommy tore pretty bad, but healed quickly! I weighed 6lb 11oz and was 19 1/2 inches long with a head FULL of dark brown hair and big blue eyes!!! :) I have had so much fun with my Mommy, especially the first 8 weeks when she was home with me everyday! She started working full time again and at first I had my Nana, Granny, Aunt Beanie, & Aunt Andi taking care of me all week, and I loved it! Now, I go to "school" everyday and get to make friends and I also love my teachers! I get to swing and play and crawl and watch Blues Clues all day! It's great!! But my favorite part of the day is when Mommy walks thru the door at 5:30!
